Low Density Polyethylene
Primarily used as a film material in the packaging industry Low Density Polyethylene (L.D.P.E) is gaining wide acceptance as a useful material in the orthotics and prosthetics industry.
Having a much lower thermoforming temperature and being extremely malleable, Low Density Polyethylene has many fabricating advantages over other materials such as High Density Polyethylene and P.E.T.G.
Although not having the same rigidity as these other materials, L.D.P.E has sufficient flexibility which has provided the solution to many problems in this field.
Low Density Polyethylene can be characterised by the following properties:
• Low temperature forming
Fields of application: orthotic appliances, packaging, and prostheses
