P.E.T.G Plain (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol)
SPECTAR« - P.E.T.G (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) developed by the Eastman Company, is a new generation safety and architectural material that has crystal clear transparency combined with impressive mechanical properties.
Having a very high impact strength and outstanding chemical resistance, makes it the material of choice for applications such as guarding in chemical environments.
For outdoor glazing applications UV grade is recommended. All other properties remain the same as plain grade.
P.E.T.G (Spectar«) can be characterised by the following properties:
- Shock resistant at -40║C to 65║C
- Extremely good vacuum forming properties with exceptional depth to draw ratio
- Can be nailed
- Can be punched (up to 3mm)
- Cold formable up to 5mm
- Excellent clarity
- Can be sterilized with gamma radiation or ethylene oxide
- Physiologically safe
- UL 94 V-2 flame rating
Fields of application: safety guarding, orthoses and prostheses, medical parts, thermoformed panels.
